How To Choose Images for Corporate Facebook Ads

Hi, everyone. It’s Jennifer from the FB Ads Lab. Today, I’d like to talk to you a little bit about corporate clients and if you have a corporate service, how you can advertise that on Facebook.

Those of you who run a legitimate offline business, perhaps you’re an accountant, a doctor, a dentist, or some sort of business, where traditionally, you’re working in a fairly corporate sort of environment. What kind of images might you use for that sort of advertising on Facebook?

This is a really common question. I know that when you read a lot of information out there, the first thing that most people tell you is you should have pictures of sexy women on your ads. Now, that’s all well and good in terms of getting people’s attention or getting a clickthrough rate, but is it appropriate for an accountant, a financial planner or maybe retirement planning or those sorts of environment where, perhaps, you want to make sure that your image is appropriate for your brand?

When you’re thinking about that kind of stuff, there are a few things that you can do. Promoting a corporate brand on Facebook Ads can be successful. Now, a lot of corporate people tell me, “Why would I want to be on Facebook?” and, “I can’t imagine that there would be a market for me on Facebook,” but the truth is that there is a huge opportunity for corporate brands on Facebook. That opportunity is that you’ll stand out from the crowd.

We all need an accountant. We all need a financial planner. We all need these corporate services that you provide, but how will we find you if you’re not there on Facebook?

Currently, my Facebook Ads are dominated by SEO companies, Games and Internet Marketers and food providers. But there are a whole bunch of other markets out there. With 600 million users on Facebook every day, your customers are there, too. So, you might as well find a way to get there.

Here are a couple of tips for corporate ads. One is make sure you have a decent logo and a very good version of your logo. If your logo is a nice, bright colorful attractive-looking image, especially if it has words or text on it, it can do quite well as an image. So, make sure you have a nice big version of it.

Now, the ad size is 110 x 80. So, if you can make a nice version that is 110 x 80, you will get good coverage and your ad can appear.

Also create a few versions of it. So, you have one version of your logo that’s just the logo. Then a version that has a thin black border around it because sometimes, that thin black border helps bring the logo out, helps it stand out, and get people’s attention on a Facebook page.

Another option to do to your logo is to add some text. You have your logo and then some text. You might say 50% off or July Special or call us today with your phone number – all that in the image.

Now, when you’re adding things, especially text to an image, make sure that it’s bold and big so that when you step away from your computer, you can still tell what it is. If you try to jam too much text in there, it is not going to work. It’s not going to grab people’s attention, so, three words maximum in that text.

You have three versions now. You’ve got your logo plain, your logo with a border and your logo with some text.

Now, another thing you could do depending on your market is you could have an image of a happy woman. Now, those of you who have been listening and reading my blog for a while will know that I do like pictures of happy women.

Usually a happy woman, a nice picture of her looking energetic or happy or looking directly at the camera is going to be really effective for almost every business. You just have to find a way in your ad copy to make sure that it connects. You can say, “Don’t feel stressed. Feel free. Our accountants will help you feel free from the pain of your taxes,” or whatever. You know what I’m talking about. If you can find some way to link your offering to the happy woman image, you can find a lot of success with that, as well.

We’re looking at logos and happy women. The other thing is if you have a person who is the forefront of your business and is well-known in the market, you can use a photograph of them. Now, a photograph of them will work quite well. Again, I would try different variations of it. You want to make sure that it’s close up and they are smiling, looking directly at the camera. Especially if they’re famous, well-known or their name is well-recognized, that could go over very, very well. It depends on what kind of a market you have.

Those are a couple of tips for images with corporate accounts and corporate advertising on Facebook.
