Have you updated your fan page since Facebook’s changes?

The changes Facebook implemented in March have left the layout and functionality of some fan pages awkward. Make sure yours is the best it can be by considering these changes:

  • “Top  5 Photos”: The default is most recent uploads, which may not be the most appropriate introduction to your page. So be sure you have selected and tagged the best photos to be highlighted across the top of your fan page.
  • Popular or All?: On your wall,  you can either select to publish the most popular comments or all activity. Setting the setting to “most popular” is a smart thing to do, as it keeps your page interactive, relevant and interesting.
  • Use Facebook as your fan page: You can comment on other pages using your fan page instead of your personal page. Here’s how: On your page, you’ll see an option on the right to “use Facebook as (page name)”. You can “like” other pages and feature them on your page. It’s a great tool for publicizing yourself and becoming more active and recognizable in your niche. An added bonus is that you can get notifications when fans interact with your page.
